So you want something to change...
I'm always asked: "What can you do for me?"
And I always reply: "Imagine - "who could I be, what could I do in my life, if I didn't have that fear or unwanted habit? What potential would I love to discover in my life?"
It can sometimes feel easier to stay in your comfort zone, where even fears, poor habits and limiting beliefs have a reassuring familiarity. But this means living a life unaware of the ability to move past any limiting beliefs, and grow, develop strengths, and live the life you want to live.
You are not your fears, your habits, your pain, your physical limitations. There is no 'fixed self'. Instead we are all ever-changing works-in-progress, experiencing a perpetual adventure of growth and discovery, oriented into the future.
If making change was as easy as consciously deciding what you want to do and doing it, therapy wouldn't exist. But unfortunately conscious thought has nowhere near the amount of control over our decisions and thoughts that we think it has.
This is the hypnotherapy space, a collaborative process of distracting your conscious mind and leaning into the resources, wisdom and skills of your unconscious mind, the part of you that controls all the automatic thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, and emotions that occur outside your range of conscious awareness.
If you know what positive changes you want in your life, what could be more empowering than taking the step to make them happen?

ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Rose Ewing.
Welcome, and I'm really looking forward to talking with you.
I'm a qualified hypnotherapist and mediator, and also have a degree in International Communication and a Postgrad in Educational Psychology.
Qualifications aside, I'm simply a very curious person who loves to learn. And most of all I love to genuinely connect with people, to learn from others and see what I can offer in return. Beneath the gaze of eternity we are all just human beings trying to figure out this thing called life.
It's the link between modern neuroscience and centuries-old hypnotherapy that I've found most interesting during my journey into hypnotherapy.
I know firsthand how incredibly effective hypnotherapy is for rapid personal change from fears and habits, whether it's weight loss, smoking, phobias, pain or anxiety.
So then I wanted to know - what does the science say?

Understanding adaptive neuroplasticity
Hypnotherapy demystified
Looking at hypnotherapy from a scientific perspective, it's all about inducing a natural physiological state that supports neuroplasticity, which is your brain's own ability to reorganise and form new connections.
Neuroscientists point to three crucial factors that stimulate neurochemicals to trigger neuroplasticity - motivation, focus and rest:
-
The pressing desire to change
- All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and requires from you a profound and driving internal desire for change -
Heightened inward focus
- Hypnotherapy is a focused state distinct from sleep, emphasizing an intensified internal focus, while your conscious mind is distracted and relaxed. -
Rest
- Hypnotherapy uses a guided relaxation or meditation with metaphorical imagery. This state of relaxation supports the brain's plasticity and amplifies the consolidation of learning

Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."
